Carolyne Pion L.Ac., M.Ac., Dipl.Ac.

carolyneCarolyne has worked with infants, toddlers, tweens, teens, and adults into their 80’s, and brings compassion and enthusiasm to her work. With thousands of treatments performed, Carolyne strongly believes in the body’s wisdom, and its ability to heal itself. When the body is in balance there is harmony in our life. Symptoms are signals our body sends when something is out of harmony. By heeding these signals, we can rebalance and maintain optimal health. When we choose to override these signals we risk losing equilibrium. If this continues we risk the loss of our innate ability to maintain good health.

Through careful listening and skillful pulse diagnosis Carolyne determines how Chinese or Japanese acupuncture therapy, and/or Chinese herbs, can rebalance her patients so they may regain balance and good health. Because she does not believe that the cure should be worse than the disease, she is extremely gentle with children and adults and has successfully helped people with a variety of needleless techniques as well.

Carolyne is also dedicated to patient education and works through anecdotes, stories, humor, and a multiplicity of examples to help her patients understand the nature of their personal healing journey. After 11 years at Crossings: A Center for the Healing Arts in Silver Spring; where she was senior acupuncturist and herbalist, Carolyne founded Family Acupuncture Associates in 2008 in Takoma Park, Md.
